A Tribute, from One Successful Career Woman to Another... Paula Riggs pays tribute to Mary Louise Thielbahr

I met Mary Louise Thielbahr about 15 years ago. I had “heard” of amazing Mary Louise for years since the beginning of my career working with kids in crisis for almost a decade before. I remember being taken aback at how humble and down-to-earth she was. Upon introducing myself, she was genuinely interested in what I was doing, and what I had to say. I sat and listened to her in awe of her knowledge, vision, and expertise.

Now coming full circle and having the pleasure of working with her, learning from her I am blessed and grateful to have the opportunity. She is always interested in new ideas, and taking concepts that were groundbreaking 25 years ago, and bringing them into current times.

Mary Louise has big dreams, yes. But she also rolled up her sleeves and did the hard work. Mary Louise started Clearview on her own, in her own home. Obviously, she was willing to do the hard relational work and took big risks. She had a lot of faith and endured the trials. Mary Louise not only lit the torch, but she also carried it too.

Mary Louise is the heart and soul of Clearview and the last 25 years of success are no accident. Whether to parents, students or staff Mary Louise gives herself 110%. She poured everything into the girls of Clearview, pouring out everything she has daily.

Mary Louise Thielbar is a beautiful woman, inside and out. She is always quick with a thank you, a compliment, and words of encouragement. Giving and patient, I strive to learn from her every day, there is no measure of the admiration and respect that I have for her. Thank you, Mary Louise!
